Glasgow pupils will enjoy an African themed menu to celebrate International Day of the African Child. This annual event is held across the world on 16 June to raise awareness of the continuing need to improve the education provided to African children.
Our Fuel Zone team have worked with Education Services to support this day with a specially prepared African themed menu for primary schools and a special meal deal for secondary pupils.
The Fuel Zone menu will include chicken curry, spicy meatballs with pitta bread and salad, jollof rice and banana bread.
Cordia will make a donation for every meal sold in primary and secondary schools on this day to Glasgow City Council’s charity - Malawi Leaders of Learning (MLOL).
Fiona Ross, Glasgow City Council education PR officer, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for schools across the city to take part in global citizenship education and learn about other cultures and education systems.
“It is also a way for us to raise the profile of the work that Malawi Leaders of Learning (MLOL) is doing and how we are improving education in Glasgow and Malawi.
“All money raised on the day will go towards library books in our Malawian partner schools and helping to keep girls in education.”
